About Hypnotism.org.uk

Hypnotism.org.uk is an online discussion forum for in-depth hypnotherapy.

Gil Boyne and Dr John Butler, two key figures in the field of hypnotherapy, are directly involved in the administration of this forum. Both have extensive experience as hypnotherapists, and have acrued thousands of client hours over the many years that they have been in private practice.

Through years of dedicated study and experience both Gil Boyne and Dr John Butler can be considered masters in the art of in-depth hypnotherapy, with highly successful practices due to the positive and often life-changing results they get with their clients.

Gil Boyne, who has been involved in the field of hypnotherapy for more than 50 years, is a renowned therapist and trainer as well as a pioneer and leader in this profession. Gil is now in his 80s, but still is actively involved in training hypnotherapists, and helping to further and develop the field of hypnotherapy.

Dr John Butler operates a busy hypnotherapy practice seeing clients in Wimpole Street and in Fulham, London. A highly regarded therapist and trainer, he is the principal instructor of the Hypnotherapy Training Institute of Britain. He has been an important figure in the development of this profession and has made many media appearances promoting the use of hypnotherapy particularly emphasising its medical applications.

A key aim of this forum is to promote in-depth hypnotherapy, as distinct from the less effective and simplistic 'script reading' or NLP based approaches that are taught in many "hypnotherapy" training schools around the UK.

Hypnotherapists who are highly motivated to help their clients but are dissatisfied with the results they currently obtain or disillusioned with what they have learned from previous trainings, we believe will benefit from joining this forum and learning more about in-depth hypnotherapy.

Although some forms of trance may be incorporated, we do not regard NLP, EFT, some versions of "Ericksonian" Hypnosis, and a variety of systems of "metaphysical" philosophies as genuine clinical hypnotherapy but as separate systems though they borrow elements from hypnotism. In using the term hypnotherapy we are referring to classical hypnotism as developed in the West in the 19th century (which had commonalities with mind healing systems of antiquity) together with modern developments based on these methods including, most notably, advanced analytical hypnotherapy or hypnoanalysis.

Gil Boyne

Gil Boyne, Founder of Transforming Therapy TM
Gil Boyne has made numerous original contributions to the contemporary practice of hypnotherapy. He has brought to the counseling professions an awareness of the inner wisdom of the human psyche. He teaches that the inner creative mind not only knows all the questions but knows all of the answers as well.

During his 53 years of Clinical Hypnotherapy practice and teaching, he created Transforming Therapy, a pragmatic methodology that focuses on rapid results, instead of attempting to prove theories. His commitment is to the client's internal problem solving ability.

Boyne's Transforming Therapy facilitates the clients discovery of their spiritual nature, and teaches them how to direct their creative intelligence to solve their own problems and conflicts.

There are many practitioners who feel that one of Boyne's greatest achievement has been the thousands of Hypnotherapists worldwide who began their career by training in his courses.
